Christmas Kitties!

Just don't understand why my babies don't like their holiday head gear; my antlers were FabUlous!

Happy Holidays!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I went to DH's company holiday party this past weekend. It was held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Sacramento & they had an amazing tree in the lobby that just happen to match my hair!

Although, I must say my outfit was all about the shoes! Aren't these simply FabUlous!

Hope everyone is enjoying the season!

Did someone say Holiday Hideaway?

My new BFF, Lia, took me along to Tim Holtz's Holiday Hideaway this past weekend in Prescott, Arizona. I tried to travel as light as possible, which for me is not easy. What do ya think?

I "edited" the Night Before Christmas story to include Tim & his products and put each paragraph on a tag.

What a week!

Wow! So much to share . . . First, I've been trying to loose weight since I got back from Inspiration Unlimited in October and the Gods sang when I got on the scale for the first time in a couple of weeks and I had lost 13 lbs so far! WOO HOO!! Then, I had three (yes, count 'em 3!) good hair days in a row; how FabUlous is that!

I've been working on my 7 Gypsies Rolodex project from Inspiration Unlimited with a goal of this past Friday and I made it! I wanted to finish it just in time to bring to Teresa Collins Holiday Crop at Scrapbook Oasis and here's the unveiling . . .

I had a great time at Teresa's crop Friday night with my new BFF, Lia, got home after midnight & took a look at Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas before calling it a night and I WON a prize from Friday's drawing! OMG! Went back to The Oasis on Saturday afternoon for another Teresa class and I won one of her acrylic album kits! Got up this morning and decided to get on the scale and the God's sang once again to bring my total weight loss to 15 lbs (5 to go)! Don't know what I've done to deserve all of this amazing FabUlouness, but I'll take it!

Hope everyone is having a FabUlous holiday season!

Two of Hearts

This is my masterpiece!

The original design is from the uber talented Emma Trout. It's made with Teresa Collins' Bella Girl & Damask lines with Grunge Board hinges. Teresa had posted a photo of Emma's project back in May on her blog and I just knew I had to receate my version. Emma created this for Daily Inspiration, a blog showcasing projects with "how to" instructions. Emma brought her project to Norway to show Teresa in person at Scrap-a-Ganza and Teresa had posted a photo of the two of them with the project. The photo really helped me to get a better idea of the size of the finished project. I totally loved doing this, but it's very detailed and not a "weekend" project. I think I studied the instructions for about a month & then emailed Emma with a few questions before I got started. I brought my version to Inspiration Unlimited last weekend to share with Teresa as well.

Emma's project was called Once Upon a Time and my version is Two of Hearts. It's an old disco song by Stacey Q that I used to have on my answering machine when we were dating and now have as a ring tone when DH is calling. I was able to incorporate the words to the song using the Bella Girl hearts! FabUlous if I do say so myself!

OMG Inspiration Unlimited!

Ran out of time to post before I hit the road to Vegas last weekend. Inspiration Unlimited was exactly that and so much more! The sold out event was held at the Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson (just 15 minutes from the strip). There were about 100 attendees from all over the US & Canada! We had 2 glorious days of make 'n takes, mini classes and full on album classes. The instructors were the fabUlous Teresa Collins, Janna Wilson & Layle Koncar.

Ginger from Down to Details put the event together and made it such a memorable time for everyone. I met so many wonderful people and ended up spending most of my time with friends from my LSS, Scrapbook Oasis; go figure! There were tons of sponsors and tons of prizes for everyone. Since it was such a huge success, they've already announced that it will now be an annual event and ya know I'll be there next year!

I also participated in a charm swap and can I just say FABULOUS beyond description! Take a look at this baby! I LOVE IT!
I've never done one before & didn't really know what to expect. We ended up with only 13 participants, but everyone made several charms so the bracelet filled out nicely. One of the girls took the event logo and put it on shrink plastic and added some bling. When she posted a photo on the event's ning site, I was so excited to know that I was going to get one. This is such a wonderful memento of the event. We all made enough charms so that the instructors and Ginger also received a full bracelet. The swap organizer also made one to auction for charity and raised over $500 for the John Tracy Clinic. It's a non-profit organization that provides free services to families of children with hearing loss.

A special thank you to everyone who filled out one of the ATC's that I distributed. I'm putting together a Rolodex project for the event and will be working on it this weekend and will post photos soon. If I missed you and you'd still like to give me an ATC, pls send me an email or post a comment and I'll give you my mailing address.

Can't wait for this weekend to pour over my bankers box of goodies from the event!

I tried my best . . .

And that's all you can do. Didn't make it to the Honor Roll for Class 4 at Top Designer. Like I said, this last one was a real struggle for me; restraint is definitley not my forte'. There can only be one winner and they have to go from over 200 entries to 1 winner in just 6 classes! The entries continue to be jaw-dropping, amazing, inspirational and just down right fabUlous! I'll continue to sit in on the classes and soak up everything I can. Good luck to those who continue on in the competition.

Just under the wire!

Phew! Got this one in just under the wire! Class 3 of Top Designer's theme was "Less is More" and for someone whose motto is "Gotta have my stuff," this was so much brain damage! Miss Sri Sams taught an amazing class with so much to learn. Here's my oh so restrained version . . .

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Oh, yeah!

I made it to the Honor Roll for admission to Class 3 of the Bad Girls Top Designer competion! All of the entries were amazing, inspiring, inventive and just down right FabUlous. We've been asked to come to class early tomorrow; can't wait to see what's in store!

Funky Vintage and then some!

I recently found Gypsy Rose Paperie via ScrapScene (gotta love them) and if you're into funky vintage, you really need to check them out! This site is over flowing with talent, inspiration, Rak's and free downloads. They're offering kits on a first come, first serve basis and are currently offering "strip teases" of 2 upcoming releases. I've already pre-ordered Haute Couture and am beside myself with anticipation of all the goodies coming my way.

Woo Hoo!

I made to the Honor Roll for class 2 at Bad Girls Top Designer contest and the competition is heating up!

Firsts

Wow! This is the first post on my first blog! I am actually checking off one of my New Year's resolutions! Ok, the only one so far, but I still have a couple of months! LOL

I've been seriously scrapping since February of 2007 and like all scrap artists I was hooked before I knew it. I love all the choices and all the companies but most of all I love the the community. I have found so many wonderful people while surfing the Net for the latest and greatest and hard-to-find products. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, I have come in contact with has been so helpful, welcoming and willing to share! How refreshing in a time where everyone is so busy and involved in their own lives. There's something about scrapbookng . . . it's connecting with the past, enjoying the current moments and the hope of what the future holds. I hope my blog inspires all of these things as others have inspired me.

Now, speaking of inspiration . . . have you visitied Bad Girls Kits and joined in their 2008 Top Designer contest?

Photobucket

Registration for the competion is now closed, but you can still participate by following the classes & posting your projects in the gallery. This site is oozing with talent and inspriation and is a must see! The first class was taught by the fabUlous Miss Carrie Fennell on layering and here's my entry . . .

They will announce the "Honor Roll" tonight which entitles entrants to continue on in the competition. Good luck to everyone!
