Two of Hearts

This is my masterpiece!

The original design is from the uber talented Emma Trout. It's made with Teresa Collins' Bella Girl & Damask lines with Grunge Board hinges. Teresa had posted a photo of Emma's project back in May on her blog and I just knew I had to receate my version. Emma created this for Daily Inspiration, a blog showcasing projects with "how to" instructions. Emma brought her project to Norway to show Teresa in person at Scrap-a-Ganza and Teresa had posted a photo of the two of them with the project. The photo really helped me to get a better idea of the size of the finished project. I totally loved doing this, but it's very detailed and not a "weekend" project. I think I studied the instructions for about a month & then emailed Emma with a few questions before I got started. I brought my version to Inspiration Unlimited last weekend to share with Teresa as well.

Emma's project was called Once Upon a Time and my version is Two of Hearts. It's an old disco song by Stacey Q that I used to have on my answering machine when we were dating and now have as a ring tone when DH is calling. I was able to incorporate the words to the song using the Bella Girl hearts! FabUlous if I do say so myself!

OMG Inspiration Unlimited!

Ran out of time to post before I hit the road to Vegas last weekend. Inspiration Unlimited was exactly that and so much more! The sold out event was held at the Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson (just 15 minutes from the strip). There were about 100 attendees from all over the US & Canada! We had 2 glorious days of make 'n takes, mini classes and full on album classes. The instructors were the fabUlous Teresa Collins, Janna Wilson & Layle Koncar.

Ginger from Down to Details put the event together and made it such a memorable time for everyone. I met so many wonderful people and ended up spending most of my time with friends from my LSS, Scrapbook Oasis; go figure! There were tons of sponsors and tons of prizes for everyone. Since it was such a huge success, they've already announced that it will now be an annual event and ya know I'll be there next year!

I also participated in a charm swap and can I just say FABULOUS beyond description! Take a look at this baby! I LOVE IT!
I've never done one before & didn't really know what to expect. We ended up with only 13 participants, but everyone made several charms so the bracelet filled out nicely. One of the girls took the event logo and put it on shrink plastic and added some bling. When she posted a photo on the event's ning site, I was so excited to know that I was going to get one. This is such a wonderful memento of the event. We all made enough charms so that the instructors and Ginger also received a full bracelet. The swap organizer also made one to auction for charity and raised over $500 for the John Tracy Clinic. It's a non-profit organization that provides free services to families of children with hearing loss.

A special thank you to everyone who filled out one of the ATC's that I distributed. I'm putting together a Rolodex project for the event and will be working on it this weekend and will post photos soon. If I missed you and you'd still like to give me an ATC, pls send me an email or post a comment and I'll give you my mailing address.

Can't wait for this weekend to pour over my bankers box of goodies from the event!
